In 2015, Natarajan made his first-class debut in Ranji Trophy for Tamil Nadu. Natarajan plays for Dindigul Dragons in the First edition of TNPL in 2016. In that tournament, he was the highest wicket-taker which he bowls more yorker. He made his T20 debut against Karnataka in the Interstate tournament 2017.
His performance was noted by selectors, In 2017 one of the IPL Franchise Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings) bought T.Natarajan for 3 crores. He made his IPL debut against Rising Pune Supergiants in that tournament.
In 2018, another IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him in the auction for 3 lakhs. He did not play for 2 seasons. Later he got a chance to play in 2020 IPL and he performed really well in that Tournament. Because of his performance he got a big chance to play international match for india against Australia.
On Dec 2, 2020, India tour of Australia series, Natarajan made his ODI debut against Australia. After the ODI series, he made his T20I debut against the same team in Australia, and later on in that series he made his debut in International Test Match.
